Rev. Martin L. King, Jr.

In April of 1963 the Rev. Martin L. King, Jr. said, “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; freedom must be demanded by the oppressed.”

Each week that I stand with my fellow OWS companions, I am frequently confronted by other members of the 99% who are passing by. They wonder what exactly it is that we are protesting. “Are you guys against the 99%?” “Are you against the Tea Party?” “Who are you going to vote for…Obama? Romney?”

It’s clear that many American’s still don’t understand that they are part of an oppressed people. Nearly 50 years ago Rev. King spoke the words above in reference to his fellow black Americans who were – and still are – oppressed.

Except that now all of us who are a part of the 99% are oppressed by the wealthiest 1% of this nation.

However, it is not only those who oppress us, it is also our politicians. They are beholden to the wealthiest 1% as well, because they funded their means to obtain that office.

All of us, black as well as white, including those of Asian and Spanish descent, need to demand our freedom.

If you have the means to see Bill Moyers’ most recent video, do so. Either on line or on through your local PBS station. It takes about an hour to watch the video; you’ll find its well worth your time.

This is the online link to his video: http://billmoyers.com/episode/on-winner-take-all-politics/

In it he, and his guests, describe much better than I can, the economic conundrum that we are in.

In order to find a way out, we must demand our freedom.

Planting Organic Seed is the Ultimate Defiance to GMO-sourced Seed Companies

Do you grow a garden each year?  Where do you get your seeds? The local hardware store?  The local ag. co-op?  The local farm store?

Or, perhaps, a big box store, like, Lowes or Home Depot? You can even pick up a packet or two while waiting in line at the grocery store.

If you answered “ yes”  to any of the above, you are supporting companies that perform research, process and sell GMO-sourced seeds.

Company’s like Monsanto!

Is that really the best way to get your vegetable seed?
Are you ready for a change?

Your purchase does make a difference!  It doesn’t matter if you only buy $ 5 worth of seed each year. Your $5 multiplied by literally thousands of other customers adds up to millions of $$ in the pockets of these companies.

It’s time to make the switch!
Switch to organic seed sources.

Google “organic vegetable seed” and you’ll get hundreds of hits. Patronize these growers and seedmen: they hold the key to our future.  If they go out of business, then the big boys will have won.

GMO seeds and GMO foods must be defeated in order for America to survive.

Here is a short list of some of the seed companies that I purchase from.
There are many others.
